Day 2 - Health infrastructure, Vector borne disease & communicable disease control part 1( TB, HIV)

        Sigh~~It was a bored day for all of us. We had spent the whole day long in the conference room listened to unstoppable talks by few officers.

SESSION 1

Topic: Health infrastructure 

Person in charge : Dr. Aishah bt. Jusoh(UD 54), MNHO

     Dr. Aishah bt. Jusoh(UD 54) started off the morning session with discussion about Health infrastructure in Pahang Terap. She gave a brief explaination about the structure and function of various levels of health care, number of health facilities from the national level to the district level, health personnel and their responsibilities and also the budget allocation.

Person in charge :  Mr Azran bin Samsudin , PPKP (Penolong Pegawai Kesihatan Persekitaran)

Objective

To reduce morbidity and mortality rate of vector borne diseases in Padang Terap district
 

      Mr Azran bin Samsudin include vector control programmes structure, functions and job responsibilities and vector control measures and law on vector control in a PowerPoint presentation. In Padang Terap, dengue cases had raised from 35 cases in 2009 to 76 cases in2010 . The cases are mainly found in KAMPUNG BARU,MUKIM TUALAK and KG BARU ( SIAM ) NAKA. Besides that, 4 malaria cases had been reported last year(2010).

Topic : communicable disease control part 1( TB, HIV) 

Person in charge : Miss Nooridayu Abd Rahim

    

Objective

To reduce morbidity and mortality rate of communicable diseases in Padang Terap district

   

    The communicable disease control unit divided into 2 seperated sessions. The first session include TB and HIV only which was taken by Miss Nooridayu Abd Rahim. The scope were disease surveillance system(computerized), vaccines and immunization available, programmes organized by MOH(done by Unit Promosi Kesihatan), notification methods(phone/form/IE system), control programmes, job responsibilities and infrastructure as well as the strategies for epidemic investigation.
